UGGC & Associés counsels to Hersant family for the sale of Le Figaro newspaper to the company Dassault group
Groupe Industriel Marcel Dassault (GIMD) has just completed the takeover of Socpresse, the European Commission having given its consent to this transaction. GIMD is therefore taking over Socpresse, top holding of the press group publishing over 70 newspapers, with over 6 million copies sold, including Le Figaro, L’Express, L’Expansion and numerous regional newspapers such as Le Progrès, La Voix du Nord, Le Courrier de l’Ouest…, with an annual turnover around EUR 1.5 billion. This transaction represents a total investment of EUR 1.4 billion for GIMD and allows the Dassault group to diversify in the press. Until now, Socpress was 82% controlled by the heirs of Robert Hersant.

In this negotiation, Robert Hersant’s heirs were assisted by Jean-Jacques Uettwiller, partner of UGGC & Associés, Jean-Marc Coblence (Coblence & Associés) and David de Pariente (Landwell).
