UGGC & Associés legal counsel to Arc International for the disposal of Salviati
The Arc International Group, world leader in tableware, has just disposed of its “Salviati” brand and activities to the company JL Coquet-Jaune de Chrome and the designer Pierre Rohatyn.

In particular, the transfer includes the Murano glass factory in Venice, Italy. Amongst the most prestigious Murano glass brands, Salviati, created in 1859, regroups two main activities, decoration and jewellery.

This operation should allow Salviati to reposition its Decoration and Jewellery activities in the top tier of the luxury range by creating a new collection and setting up a selective distribution network.

The Arc International Group, with a staff of 16,500 worldwide and a turnover of 1.4 billion euros in 2006, had already announced as early as June 2007 its wish to dispose of Saviati and Mikasa. The conclusion of this operation is in keeping with Arc International Group’s strategy to focus on its core activities

JL Coquet-Jaune de Chrome, managed by Christian Le Page, had a turnover of 6 million euros in 2006, 80% of which was destined for export. The company offers tableware goods and very high range decoration accessories. Mr Pierre Rohatyn has acquired more than 25 years experience in the design field, working with the largest brands in Art of the table.

Within the Arc International Group, the case was handled by Eric Thomas and Tanguy Fradet.

UGGC & Associés assisted the Arc International Group on the legal aspects of this operation. Charles-Emmanuel Prieur, partner at the firm, worked with Yves Mondellini, Laura Malach and Natalia Toribio.

The financial adviser to the Group was XENTRUST with Raymond Verley and Christophe Besset.

JL Coquet-Jaune de Chrome and Mr Pierre Rohatyn’s legal counsel was Yann Martin-Lavigne.
