A look back at the workshop organized by UGGC Avocats alongside WOMEN IN AFROFOOD – WINA, dedicated to the protection and enhancement of intellectual property in the Afrofood sector.
Brand name, concept, recipe, design, innovation... Every idea deserves to be recognized, supported and defended. All too often, protection comes too late, when it should be incorporated right from the start of the project.
Anne-Marie PECORARO UGGC, alongside Olouwafèmi KIDJO, President of WINA, shared good practices on a number of key topics:
- securing creations and deposits,
- anticipating the risks of counterfeiting,
- transforming intellectual property into a real lever for development.
The workshop closed with an Afrofood cocktail by Sainte Marie IPOHE, enhanced by a tasting of Aline Bodjrenou’s sauces.
Many thanks to all the participants and to the members of the WINA association for the richness of the exchanges and the inspiring energy around Afrofood entrepreneurship:
Rachel LOLLIA, founder of Pawoka; Marthe KANE, co-founder of the SIMEL brand; Laurene Odje, WINA association volunteer; Ramata Diarra, founder of RD Agobiz.
