LEX INSIDE – Platform structure: TF1 attacks Canal+

In the LEX INSIDE program on B SMART, Anne-Marie Pecoraro, partner at UGGC Avocats, deciphers an emblematic dispute between TF1 and Canal+, at the crossroads of media law, intellectual property and streaming platforms.

At the heart of the discussions :

  • Distribution agreements and their limits
  • Exclusion of parasitism in the presence of a contract
  • Brand counterfeiting issues
  • The central yet little-explored role of the broadcaster’s neighbouring rights
  • The key question of how to make the most of DTT in the age of platforms

An innovative legal debate, with major consequences for the content economy and the structuring of digital platforms. To be found in LEX INSIDE – B SMART.

Anne-Marie Pecoraro is currently taking part in the first edition of the international seminar on the fight against audiovisual content piracy, organized in Rabat in the run-up to the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2025, which Morocco will be hosting.

This major sporting event, followed by millions of viewers in Africa and around the world, represents a major strategic challenge in terms of legal broadcasting, rights protection and the fight against online piracy networks, particularly for live sports broadcasts.
