LJA – 6th Grenelle du droit: a time of change or a change of era?

At a time when artificial intelligence is profoundly transforming the legal world, the 6th Grenelle du droit brought together magistrates, notaries, lawyers, academics and in-house counsel around a single objective: to unite the players in the legal sector in order to strengthen France’s legal sovereignty.

On this occasion, Patrick Sayer, President of the Paris Tribunal des Activités Economiques, and David Gordon-Krief, representing the Paris Bar, encouraged the various players, particularly the public sector, to amplify the resources deployed to promote French and even European law on the international stage, at a time when Anglo-Saxon systems are “attempting to trivialize civil law with unprecedented violence”.

David Gordon-Krief also recalled the disastrous effects of the Business Ready (B-READY) report, successor to the Doing Business report, underlining how essential this information will nonetheless be in quantifying the constraints facing businesses and informing data-driven public policy.

His talk is part of a wider debate on:
– the integration of AI in the training of lawyers ;
– building shared governance of the law;
– the need to mobilize our professions around an attractive, sovereign legal model.
