November 21st, 2022 – Anne-Marie Pecoraro, partner at UGGC Avocats, specialised in intellectual property, was pleased to write an article published in Edition Multimedi@ on the topic: “The metaverse is not in a legal vacuum, but regulation will have to go beyond its borders”.

In the near future, with the Web3 and its metavers, legal issues will be dictated by the a priori uncontrollable character of the enormity of sharing: the proliferation of modes of exchange and the international nature will require complex and effective regulations, which we hope will take less time to emerge than those resulting from Web 2.0. Since the late 1990s, video game publishers have understood that users would engage in new forms of interaction involving their virtual identities and new spaces for sharing.”
