UGGC Avocats wins acquittal of Bourbon Group’s Vice President Finance

Former Vice President Finance of the Bourbon Group, he was appearing alongside 7 current and former Bourbon executives on charges of complicity in the bribery of foreign public officials in Cameroon, Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea at the turn of the 2010s.

In reading out the verdict, President Laure Humeau made it clear that there was no evidence of Mr Genevet’s involvement in the events being tried by the Marseilles Criminal Court.

As the Public Prosecutor did not appeal against the acquittal, Mr Genevet’s acquittal is final, after 8 years of legal battle to have his innocence recognized.
