Artificial intelligence in drug discovery: the legal status of AI-generated inventions

We are delighted to announce that Alison Leroy, a partner at UGGC Avocats, was recently honored by the International Bar Association’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Law Committee for her article on artificial intelligence and drug discovery.

This article examines the impact of artificial intelligence on drug discovery and the legal issues surrounding AI-generated inventions. It analyzes the development of AI-based tools, their integration into the pharmaceutical industry, and the intellectual property challenges that emerge as these systems become more autonomous.

The article highlights the need to reassess existing legal frameworks in order to adapt them to the growing autonomy of AI in the drug development process.

Congratulations to Alison Leroy on this publication and this new international recognition.
