UGGC on the international scene: Participation in the AIJA annual congress in Washington D.C.
Maija Brossard, Benjamin de Sevin and Marine Simonnot had the pleasure of representing UGGC at the 63rd annual congress of theInternational Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) in Washington D.C.

Attended by over 500 participants, the congress was an opportunity to maintain existing contacts, make new ones and exchange views with foreign colleagues on issues encountered in their practices.
AIJA is the only global association dedicated to lawyers and in-house counsel aged 45 and under. Since 1962, AIJA has provided exceptional international opportunities for young lawyers to network, learn and develop.
Marine took part in a major session dedicated to the latest developments in the recognition of foreign insolvency proceedings. This panel of experts address, in particular:
- The main obstacles and pitfalls of international legal recognition,
- Strategic tools for practitioners to maximize asset recovery,
- The use of the recognition of a foreign insolvency proceeding to initiate legal action in the jurisdiction that recognizes the proceeding.
