Criminal risk relating to corporate relations with the authorities and environmental protection
On Thursday June 19, we were delighted to welcome corporate executives, legal managers and experts to a conference focusing on the criminal risk associated with corporate relations with the authorities and environmental protection.

The morning featured two highlights:
Focus on the criminal risks incurred by economic operators holding public contracts (for works, supplies and services) and works and service concessions, as a result of their relations with contracting authorities.
Despite the Sapin II law and the implementation of vigilance and compliance measures, companies are still faced with increased risks: complicity and concealment of favoritism, corrupt practices, influence peddling, concealment of illegal taking of interest, concealment of misappropriation of public funds, etc., even though they have not necessarily anticipated them. How can they be effectively prevented in day-to-day practice?
Focus on environmental criminal risk
Tougher penalties, new offences with higher quantums of punishment, environmental CJIP, environmental summary proceedings, enhanced role for environmental protection associations whose interest in taking action is widely recognized before criminal courts… Companies must adapt to constantly changing regulations, and anticipate the transposition of the European directive of April 11, 2024, which should further increase the criminal risk in environmental matters.
Many thanks to our speakers, participants and all those who work to improve the management of criminal risk in the workplace. The morning ended with a cocktail lunch.
